Welcome to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of NZ
PlaceMakers: Proudly supporting Blue September with help from some famous friends
From shave-offs to scooter challenges, PlaceMakers stores across the country have done their part in 2011 to help raise $300,000 for the PCFNZ.
At a tongue-in-cheek presentation Buck Shelford, Stu Wilson, Mike Puru, Joseph Naufahu and Hamish Dodd lent their time to help PlaceMakers CEO, John Beveridge, present the $300,000 cheque to PCFNZ CEO, Keith Beck.
One in 10 NZ men will develop prostate cancer, so as an industry dominated by men, it makes sense for PlaceMakers to support the Foundation. Early detection can save lives, so disease awareness and education is something PlaceMakers wholeheartedly supports.
This video ‘packages’ the ‘early detection’ message in a memorable way and will hopefully encourage everyone to take a second look…
Men with prostate cancer have to make vitally important decisions about types of treatment. They may also have to make important choices and adjustments to enjoy a full life. To do this they need relevant and current information to help them make the decision that is best for them. It is not our role to give you medical advice, but we will guide you to the most appropriate information available.
There are many different treatments for prostate disease and people need information about their choices so they can make decisions that are best for them. Our role is to help those recently diagnosed with prostate cancer, and survivors of prostate cancer, to lead productive and full lives through shared counselling and discussions.
Remember, we know what you and those close to you are going through. Read more about us »
PCFNZ does not recommend the use of ‘over the counter’ PSA test kits.
